Overview
Mitchell Greggs is a Shareholder with Maynard Nexsen’s Labor and Employment and Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Groups. Coupled with his extensive background in Business and General Litigation, Mitchell is a seasoned advisor to employers and businesses looking to effectively navigate employment disputes and protect their intellectual property.
Mitchell regularly advises clients regarding employment matters, including non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, employment agreements, severance agreements, commissions agreements, FLSA matters, leave matters, intellectual property matters, and transaction-related employment due diligence. He is also experienced in representing clients in connection with employment claims and litigation, business torts, and contract disputes.
Mitchell understands the value and certainty of early dispute resolution. He works closely with his clients in the resolution of employment claims, contract disputes, and non-competition and non-solicitation agreements at both the pre-litigation and pre-trial stages of disputes.
Mitchell received his J.D. cum laude from Washington & Lee University and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alabama.

- Successfully defended a staffing company against claims for indemnification through an appeal to the Alabama Supreme Court (Nucor Steel Tuscaloosa, Inc. v. Zurich Am. Ins. Co., 343 So. 3d 458 (Ala. 2021)).
- Successfully defended a client against FMLA claims through an appeal to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals (Hickey v. Protective Life Corp., 988 F.3d 380 (7th Cir. 2021)).
- Member of a team that represented a media company in the enforcement of non-competition and non-solicitation agreements resulting in a pre-trial settlement.
- Member of a team that represented the State of Alabama Department of Corrections in a month-long federal court trial and the eventual settlement of a state-wide class action brought by inmates alleging violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
- Member of a team that represented an out-of-state general contractor in a week-long dispute resolution hearing before the State of Alabama Building Commission resulting in a multi-million dollar contract adjustment in favor of the general contractor.
